Sebastian turns 3!

Can you guys believe my baby is three years old now? We celebrated him on October 13th, and I was running around like a crazy person per usual procrastinating, trying to get everything done the day of. This is the first year he truly understands Halloween and he was all excited about it since the beginning of September. He kept telling me "Mama I want monsters birthday cake!" After watching countless episodes of Halloween Cake Wars I was feeling inspired, and decided to take on the challenge of making it myself (mind you I have never in my life iced a cake, much less used fondant.) So monsters birthday cake he got, lopsided and everything but he loved it haha.  Everything was DIY'd except for the Krispy Kreme donuts. My family was such a huge help, I had my brothers baking and sister in laws helping me decorate, and Sebastian helped put the finishing touches on the cupcakes. When it came time to cut his cake, he made us sing him happy birthday and light up the candle for a total of 3 times, he was so excited and didn't want it to end.  He is such an incredible little boy, and brings our family so much joy and happiness, aside from the tantrums that keep us entertained lol. I am one lucky mama to be able to call him mine.

Boater Hats and my thoughts on Maternity Jeans

I  mentioned a couple posts ago how I got a ton of new things from Asos. This sun top was another favorite of mine and it's currently 25% off. I also ordered this boater hat that I've been wanting for a while now, I just always thought my forehead was too big for them lol. But as soon as I tried it on I really loved it! I can't wait to wear it all Summer, I also got a matching one for baby girl. Now let me get into what I've really been wanting to talk about: Maternity Jeans. When I was pregnant with Sebastian it was summer so I wore nothing but dresses. This pregnancy happened during colder months and I gave in and spent over $200 on maternity jeans. I really just wanted to find a cute pair that I'd feel comfortable in to wear every day. When my bump was just starting to show at about 20 weeks, it wasn't a big deal. The only problem I did have was that the pairs I got with a side panel kept  riding down and looked saggy. As my bump got bigger, I sized up, but kept having the same issue. The ones I got with a belly waistband were a little more comfortable but again, didn't feel comfortable like a stretchy pair of skinny jeans. I searched up and down everywhere, ordered designer maternity jeans, thinking that quality may have been way better but had no luck. As I was getting ready to leave to Vegas for my sister's 21st, I was on the hunt for a pair of simple black destroyed skinnies, I ended up reading the reviews for the rockstar jeggings from Old Navy and went in store so I could try them on. And guess what, they worked!! I just had to go up 2 sizes but I absolutely love them and the fit and quality. I can't believe I had never tried their jeans, I'm for sure getting another pair post pregnancy. They're super stretchy and don't make my butt look saggy. My final verdict, don't spend your money on maternity jeans, it's so unnecessary, rockstar jeggings are the best thing everrrrr.  Maternity leggings on the other hand, have been my best friend. I got 3 pairs and as soon as they come out the dryer, I wear them in constant rotation.

Striped Button Dress

Dress: Forever 21 | Bag: Gucci | Shoes: Steve Madden

I feel like I've been pregnant forever and am now running out of time and lacking the energy to get everything done. I wish I was one of those people that had their hospital bag packed weeks in advance but nope, I'm most likely going to end up waiting until I get contractions and start packing then lol. I wore this dress on Sunday, it's non-maternity and I just had to size up to make it work with the bump. It's unfortunately sold out but I was able to find similar picks.

Matching with my Mini

I love doing mommy and me outfits with Sebastian but it's sometimes so hard to find matching looks. I got his little cotton blazer first and spent months looking for one for myself and had no luck until I was randomly browsing forever 21 and found this one on clearance for only $9!! I'm always a little hesitant when ordering online especially if it's a final sale item because you don't know how it's going to fit/ the overall quality, but I really liked it when it came in. It's super soft and comfy, just what I had been looking for. It's unfortunately sold out but I was able to find a similar one.

Mink Lace Wrap Dress

This dress is my favorite I've worn thus far. The purple mauve tone just screams Spring. It's perfect if you have a wedding to go to or even your baby shower. I had such a hard time finding nice maternity dresses that didn't look like the mother of the bride. But Asos has some really nice pieces, I can't wait to show you guys everything I got.

Pregnancy Update

You know those people that make being pregnant look soo easy? Yeah well that's definitely NOT me. I've had such a tough pregnancy this time around dealing with excruciating back and pelvic pain, I'm not exaggerating when I say it's hard and painful for me to get out of bed, much less walk. My yoga ball has become my best friend and it's the only thing that makes the pain go away for the time being. I'm going on 37 weeks tomorrow and I really want to push through it and document as much as possible these last couple of weeks, aiming to update the blog every day. We've shot a couple of looks here and there that I'm so excited to share with you guys. These pictures were taken when I was around 30 weeks so I'm much bigger now lol. But I've come to love Free People dresses. They've accommodated my growing bump so well without needing to size up.
